Merry Christmas

Well, Christmas is over and it when it came to having family time, this year was really the best.

Baby Lila, our Christmas kiddo, turned one on Christmas Eve.

There are some pictures of her face smeared in chocolate cake that are hilarious.

I don't have time to do a proper update as we are slammed at work (I've been here since 6:30am... yikes) but I couldn't resist sharing this video. You know how kids always play with the cardboard boxes that their presents come in, instead of the presents themselves?

Well, in our case, Ethan and Sekiah chose to play with Lila's leftover birthday balloons.
My heart melts when Kye spontaneously sings "you are my precious Sta-AR" to the purple star balloon.

Too sweet those babies.

Who are babies no longer.
They turn FIVE this week.

JingleBell 2011

I won the race!

Ready for my JingleBell

Not really.

But I did have fun running it.

Meghan Anderson's sister Erin ran it too and good lord that family is fast! She finished the whole 3 miles in just about 20 minutes. Not on my very best day, I tell you...

That is Erin and Me, Carla and Kirsten.

I tried to run with my homemade 'Max' Antler on (from The Grinch Who Stole Christmas movie? You remember) but it wobbled weirdly so I stuffed it in my bag. I have never run a race wearing a bag before and it wasn't terrible but it was a bit distracting. the Santa Clause and 8 inflatable reindeer were back (see last year's post) but there were significantly fewer dudes running in just their underpants. Thank God, though, beacuse it was C O L D Out.

See my 'Max' antler?

Kirsten is one of the fastest Slow Motion to the Ocean (SMO) teammates and I was glad she ran the JingleBell with me. Meghan had come down with a 24-hour stomach bug and had to skip the race. I figured Carla would bag out beacuse a) it was 20 degrees out but it felt even colder and b) Meghan was the only reason she signed up for the race in the first place. But to my very great surprise Carla ran it with us and she was amazing.

Kudos to you ladies!

Kirsten's original outfit was much more sheer and elfin but due to the frigid conditions she opted for some long running pants and a jacket instead. I can't say I blame her but OH! MAN! that original outfit was awesome.

All things considered I ran it at a respectable 9:41 pace.

I have not run in LITERALLY months, I was happy with that. Carla and Kirsten stayed right with me until just after mile two when I always start to lose steam. They kept pace and finished at 9:35 each.

Well done!
Love This

Afterwards, at Tavern, I suffered the disappointment of learning they had removed Big Buckhunter and instead talked to my friends about life and relationships and love and what to do when things go sour. And I got to see some folks I haven't seen in a while. Tina and Robbie, Mister Michael Crane who is my love (big teddy bear that he is) and it was Regan's birthday week so there was cake and singing and cheersing and paper plates featuring Team Edward and Team Jacob.

T Birthday Girl was Team Jacob

That's all from here, today.

And here for your amusement, is me taking a picture of Carla and I that she has to sort of duck into since my arms are so short it was nearly impossible to fit us both in the frame.

Happy Holler-days Everyone!

Football Sunday Final

Well, the bathroom is 90% done!

Looks pretty nice, right?

I'm proud of how the tile turned out.

Everyone is talking me into sealing the grout and finishing it this way or that way, but you and I both know it'll take about one week of regular use before that floor turns black with oil and boot grease and whoknowswhatallelse those mechanics track in there.

So why get too fussy, am I right?

As I type this the nice carpenters are installing the cabinets in the hallway.

That will look nice.

And here is the final page of the Football Sunday comic.

Read the whole thing for FREE right HERE.

Remember, you can buy my books and donate money.

That'll keep me in pencils for a few more days y'all.

The Tile Is Finished!

The Tile Is Finished!

Grout? Done.

Here is the video evidence.

I've got that crazy gleam in my eye.

The one that says 'I am almost finished with this damn project!' Rejoice!

Also it was fairly early in the morning and I was ready to go!

Look! No buttcrack!

So, that's done.

Here is the re-done page from the Football comic I am working on:

Always talking about their periods during football games.

What's up with that?

Happy Friday everyone!
